Telephone Interpreting

One of the fastest-growing services which is being used increasingly by our clients. A flexible service that fits around you and can be set up within minutes. Our coordinators will take your contact details from you and subsequently set up the conference call. The coordinator will then call you and your interlocutor, with a professional interpreter on the line ready to start interpreting. This service provides a less expensive alternative to face-to-face interpreting.

Consecutive Interpreting

Where the interpreter stands beside the speaker and interprets in sections, i.e. consecutively. Depending on the length of the sections of speech, the interpreter may take notes, and then when the speaker stops, the interpreter repeats what has been said into the requested language.

The interpreter will accurately reproduce what has been said. This form of interpreting is often used for short speeches and live media interviews.

Whispering Interpreters

Whispering Interpreters

Great value whispering interpreters covering over 100 languages. No special equipment required.

What is Whispering Interpreting?

Whispering Interpreting is where the interpreter sits next to the person needing to understand the foreign language and whispers what’s being said in their ear.

No special equipment is required and the interpreting is near real-time.

If the person being interpreted to wishes to speak their Whispering Interpreter will speak on their behalf.

The aim to provide personal language support to an individual within a group without impacting the group as a whole.

As no special equipment is required, Whispering Interpreters can walk and talk making them ideal for site visits.

Examples of use

  • Language support for foreign executive attending company board meeting.

  • Delegate attending group training course overseas.

  • Overseas factory or office visit.

Things to be aware of

Whispering interpreters work best on a one-to-one basis.

Where accompanying a small group on, say, a site visit it’s usually fine to hire just one interpreter for several delegates.

However, in business meetings it’s much better if each delegate have their own interpreter so as not to cause disruption for other delegates.

If you know in advance, or even suspect, that your Whispering Interpreter may be required to attend dinner with your group, please mention this at the time of booking.

Background information

If the subject matter being discussed is highly specialized, please provide as much background as possible to help us select the most appropriate individual for your needs.

It’s sometimes easy to forget that all industries have their own special vocabulary and acronyms.

The better you brief your interpreter ahead of your event, the better they will be able to serve you.

Liaison Interpreting

A form of consecutive interpreting which is to some extent the most personal and informal type of interpreting. It is used principally for small groups or meetings (e.g. a business meeting between two executives).  For liaison interpreting, our experienced, qualified interpreters work both into and out of their mother tongue.

Face-To-Face Interpreting

Cover People have a strong face-to-face interpreting department. Our interpreters are hand-picked for each individual assignment; whether called out to assist with a factory visit, a business dinner or working on a film set, we make sure we send an experienced linguist with the right personality for that environment.

We are always quick to respond to emergency language needs.

The Joomla! content management system lets you create webpages of various types using extensions. There are 5 basic types of extensions: components, modules, templates, languages, and plugins. Your website includes the extensions you need to create a basic website in English, but thousands of additional extensions of all types are available. The Joomla! Extensions Directory is the largest directory of Joomla extensions.

Component ImageComponents are larger extensions that produce the major content for your site. Each component has one or more "views" that control how content is displayed. In the Joomla administrator there are additional extensions such as Menus, Redirection, and the extension managers.

Media ImageModules are small blocks of content that can be displayed in positions on a web page. The menus on this site are displayed in modules. The core of Joomla! includes 24 separate modules ranging from login to search to random images. Each module has a name that starts mod_ but when it displays it has a title. In the descriptions in this section, the titles are the same as the names.

Content modules display article and other information from the content component.

User modules interact with the user system, allowing users to login, show who is logged-in, and showing the most recently registered users.

These modules display information from components other than content and user. These include weblinks, news feeds and the media manager.

Utility modules provide useful functionality such as search, syndication and statistics.

Navigation modules help your visitors move through your site and find what they need.

Menus provide your site with structure and help your visitors navigate your site.  Although they are all based on the same menu module, the variety of ways menus are used in the sample data show how flexible this module is.

A menu can range from extremely simple (for example the top menu or the menu for the Australian Parks sample site) to extremely complex (for example the About Joomla! menu with its many levels). They can also be used for other types of presentation such as the site map linked from the "This Site" menu.

Breadcrumbs provide users with information about where they are in a site.

Media ImageTemplates give your site its look and feel. They determine layout, colours, typefaces, graphics and other aspects of design that make your site unique. Your installation of Joomla comes prepackaged with three front end templates and two backend templates. Help

Plugin ImagePlugins are small task oriented extensions that enhance the Joomla! framework. Some are associated with particular extensions and others, such as editors, are used across all of Joomla. Most beginning users do not need to change any of the plugins that install with Joomla. Help

We search the whole countryside for the best fruit growers.

You can let each supplier have a page that he or she can edit. To see this in action you will need to create a user who is in the suppliers group.

Create one page in the growers category for that user and make that supplier the author of the page. That user will be able to edit his or her page.

This illustrates the use of the Edit Own permission.
